Teacher In-Service

a different take on professional development.

My Teacher In-Service & Professional Development Programs are meant to be inspiring, relaxing and thought-provoking. After many years of delivering jargon-filled power points, I changed the way I work with educators. My in-service sessions now reflect the things I believe to be true about creativity, and the ways it has a positive impact on learning, retention, personal connection to content and, most importantly, self-development and personal growth.

Imagine a professional development that your teachers left saying, “That was fun.”

The best way I know of to understand the impact of Creativity is to HAVE A CREATIVE EXPERIENCE.

The best way I know to show someone they are appreciated is to provide them with an experience that makes them feel good about themselves on a personal level. My educator sessions let teachers be humans who get to simply take a moment out and take a breath.

if you need more “real” reasons…

They include process and following steps, literacy components like identifying poetic language, utilizing vocabulary, creating syntax and grammar, color and shape study, design, making choices, illustrating personal themes and values, focus and mindfulness. Plus, they are just a good time. :)

CREATIVE TIME FOR YOU

All of my educator sessions are hands-on creative art and/or writing projects.... don’t worry if you don’t think of yourself as an “artist.” My workshops are designed for success for both the artist and the non-artist.

I offer everything from single sessions to full and multi-day "institute" programs. Please email me to discuss your school/district needs. dar@darsworld.com

ART TEACHERS:

If you are interested in a district/region Art Educators Session, I offer a more intensive, technique-based seminar that can focus on my unique, dry-adhesion collage method, GOLDEN acrylics and mediums, as well as other art techniques and offers information specific to the art teacher’s objectives.
