#51 Little Houses, Dar James

A one of a kind, original, mixed-media piece with dimensional layers of acrylic, paper and mediums, all enhanced with decorative details like dots, iridescent effects and line work. Squares are 6x6” and rectangles are 4x8”— all on deep, 1.5” deep cradled boards. The backs are signed, dated and numbered and the sides are sanded, varnished and titled. The title of the piece can be seen on the second image.

The 100 Little Houses in this collection are called “HOME” and were my 2022-100 Day Project, a colorful and serene celebration of the sanctuaries we seek, create and call Home. For each day of the project, I also read three pages of Jon Kabat-Zinn’s ‘Wherever you Go There You Are.’ The two together were a daily, creative meditation.
